Are you worrying about how to maintain your wigs from Nifty Wigs? And how to make it last longer?

Your wig should be washed after about 6-8 wears or every 2-3 weeks. However,

your lifestyle plays a big part in how often your wig should be washed. If you're around heavy smoke, perfume or strong odors of any kind, you should wash your wig more often.

Using shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for wigs is the key to wig longevity. Traditional shampoos and conditioners have harsh chemicals that can permanently damage your wig. Unlike your natural hair, wig hair will not repair itself over time, so proper washing is essential to making your Nifty Wig in the best condition.

5 easy steps to properly wash and maintain your wig

1. Brush out your wig gently before washing. Use a soft-bristled brush to remove any tangles.
2. Wash your wig with shampoo specifically designed for wigs. Gently place your wig in a tub filled with cool water and allow the wig to soak for five to ten minutes. Rinse the wig with cool water when finished. Allow your wig to air dry by placing on a mannequin head or wig stand so it will dry in its natural shape. Do not brush or comb your wig when it is wet.
3. Once dry, brush your wig gently using a soft-bristled brush or a wide-tooth comb.
4. Spray your wig with a leave-in conditioner to help prevent tangles. You can also use a de-tangling product or silicon spray to help your wig stay tangle-free.
5. Wigs should be removed when sleeping, exercising or swimming when possible.
